Red round picture frames are a niche, however, mixed with the right décor and artwork, they can add a much needed “punch” to a room. We offer solid color painted frames that are red in color, but in this post, we only highlight the hardwood round frames made of poplar and stained red.
Poplar (yes that is the correct spelling 😊) is a generic hardwood that accepts colored stains well. It is a closed grain wood meaning it has character but is not as porous as other hardwoods such as oak. The grain is easily filled with a light clear coat which, unless otherwise requested, has a satin sheen. The red stain is translucent which allows the wood grain to be seen. It is also UV resistant meaning the pigment will stay the same over time even if placed in a well-lit room with a lot of natural light.
Red frames or furniture, is also referred to as mahogany, or cherry. Both names are inaccurate as poplar has natural white or green tones. We’ve aimed to create a stunningly beautiful red tone, and many agree the combination of this transparent red stain and choice of wood species fills this request.
This post includes our “inside cover” profile option. Other options can be found on our “frame profile” link above. We offer red round frames, round corner, or red oval picture frames as well as what is shown in the examples of this page. Contact us today with your special request. If we don’t have it in stock, we can certainly create it.
